Business Basics Grants - Round 5

Submissions closed at 5:00PM 11 June 2024 (AEST).

This is a Registration of Interest form for the Business Basics Grants Program Round 5.

Please be advised:

  • the grant opens at 9:00am on 29 May 2024 and will close at 5:00pm on 11 June 2024.
  • the Registration of Interest form should take about 3 minutes to complete. You can complete it at any time before the close date.
  • the registration forms Stage 1 of the application process.
  • you can complete your Registration of Interest (ROI) at any time while the stage is open.
  • please leave plenty of time to fill it out, review and submit it.
  • help is available during business hours (see Before you begin below).
  • the Business Basics program is competitive, meaning applications are assessed against eligibility and assessment criteria.
  • valid ROIs will be assessed through a ballot process with a number of applications selected to move to Stage 2. Each valid ROI has an equal opportunity to be selected. 
  • the number of registrations selected will be sufficient to enable DESBT to undertake a competitive assessment process at Stage 2.
  • there is limited funding available for this round; submitting a registration does not guarantee progressing to Stage 2.

To be eligible to apply:

  • your business needs to have a minimum turnover of $75,000 and a maximum turnover of $300,000 for the last financial year (2022-23)
  • you cannot have been approved for funding under an earlier round of Business Basics.
  • you must meet the full eligibility criteria as listed in the guidelines.
  • DESBT won't accept partially completed applications. Please ensure you complete and validate every field.

 

Before you begin

Welcome to the Stage 1 Registration of Interest: Business Basics Round 5 online grant application service, powered by SmartyGrants.

 

Navigate (move through) the application form

On every screen (page of the form), you will find a menu linking to every application page. Click the link to jump directly to the page you want.

You can also click 'next page' or 'previous page' on the top or bottom of each page to move forward or backward through the application.

 

Saving your application

You can save your application as you progress through to submit it.

 

Download your application

You can also download any draft or completed application as a PDF. Click on the 'Download PDF' button at the bottom of the last page of the application form.

 

Submit your application

To submit your application, you must Review and Submit it.

The Review page will show you your entire application and any validation errors (in red boxes).

You must resolve all validation errors before you can submit.

Click 'Submit' at the top or bottom of the screen or navigation panel to submit your application.

You can't edit your application or upload attachments once you have submitted it.

 

Completing an application in a group/team

Several people can work on an application using the same login details if only one person is working at a time. So ensure you save as you go.
